NILI Summer Institute 2024

Welcome to the Northwest Indian Language Institute 2024 Summer Institute Registration!

This year's Institute will run from June 23 through June 29. Find more information about  NILI Summer Offerings!

Summer Institute (SI) classes support teachers to strengthen language learner and speaker growth. The beginner teachers' track focuses on core Indigenous language teacher skills. The experienced teachers' track goes more into depth into some elements of teaching, looking at topics such as self-assessment, developing activities tied to student levels, and building language use throughout the community. People in the beginner’s track will typically have one year or less of teaching regularly in the classroom. Those in the experienced track will typically have a year or more. There may be some exceptions, depending on how intensive an educator’s experience may or may not have been in a given year or more. If you are uncertain what track you best fit in, please reach out to us at nwili@uoregon.edu or 541-346-0730. We’ll be happy to work with you to find your best place!

All SI participants will take part in TRaiLS, our discussion series for language revitalization practitioners. You do not need to register separately for TRaiLS.

If your organization is paying your fee:

Determine if the payment will be by credit card or echeck. If it can be a credit card or echeck online payment, please work through the registration and payment process below with the person authorized to make the payment and have them enter the required information at the end. If your organization needs an invoice to pay by physical check, please contact us at nwili@uoregon.edu or 541-346-0730. We will need to have the name, title, phone and email address of the billing contact - the person who will be responsible for payment at your organization, as well as what costs need to be on the invoice (for example, shared (double) or single room, parking permit, etc.)

**Please note that if you are registering more than one person you need to go through the registration process for each person individually.
